Verdict
Rosie is the least-setup option on this site: forward your number, let it answer, read the message. For a solo operator whose problem is missed calls rather than a missing process, that is exactly enough, and at $49 a month for 250 minutes it is the cheapest verified plan that does it. Know the catch: the $49 plan cannot transfer a call or book directly on your calendar. Those arrive on the $149 Scale plan, which is where Rosie starts competing on workflow rather than price.
This is an Editorial Preview. We have not published a numeric rating for Rosie because our structured testing is not complete. Facts below are sourced and dated; anything unverified is labeled.
Strengths
- Lowest verified entry price in our database: $49 for 250 minutes
- 7-day free trial on every plan
- Booking, transfers and in-call texting on the $149 Scale plan
Limitations
- Professional plan cannot transfer calls or book directly
- No overage rate published
- No human backup
- Fewer integrations than larger platforms (Zapier only)
Some owners do not want a workflow. They want the phone answered while they are on a ladder and a message waiting when they climb down. Rosie is built for that owner, and this review is honest about the steps it skips rather than pretending it competes on them.
Answer
Around-the-clock answering is listed. Setup is forwarding your existing line, which means a pest-control operator can be covered before the next job without changing the number on the truck. Rosie has no industry specialization, so it treats a termite inspection call the same as any other.
Understand and capture
Message-taking is the product. Expect the caller's name, number and what they wanted, delivered to you. How rich the capture is beyond that, for instance whether you get transcripts or only a summary, is pending verification. For an owner who used to get voicemails, a legible message is a real upgrade; for one who wants a structured intake, it is a starting point.
Qualify
Lead qualification is marked partial. Do not expect callers sorted by job value or urgency; expect to do that sort yourself when you read the message. That is a fair trade for a two-person cleaning company. It is not for a shop fielding forty calls a day.
Schedule
This step depends entirely on which plan you buy. On the $49 Professional plan, Rosie does not book; it sends the caller an appointment link by text and the customer picks a time. On the $149 Scale plan it books appointments directly on your calendar. Whether that direct booking runs a conflict check before confirming a slot is not stated on the pricing page and is pending verification. If you run your week from a calendar and want callers placed on it without you in the loop, budget for Scale and press on the conflict question during the trial.
Route
The $49 Professional plan has no transfers at all. Its answer to "I need to talk to someone" is, in effect, "they will call you back," which is acceptable in trades where callbacks are normal and costly in trades where the caller is already dialing your competitor. Warm and live transfers to your team arrive on the $149 Scale plan, and the $299 Growth plan adds waterfall transfers that try a list of people in order. There is no human receptionist pool on any plan. For a tech in the field who needs the emergency call handed to him, Scale is the minimum.
Follow through
Texting is partial: Professional sends appointment links by text, and Scale lets the receptionist text the caller during the call. The one named integration is Zapier, which reaches 1,000+ apps but means your CRM or scheduler is connected through a Zap you build, not a native connector. Custom agent training from your own documents is a Growth-plan feature. Assume that follow-through is largely your job: read the message, call back, book the work in whatever system you already use. Developer access is marked false, so there is no building your own bridge beyond Zapier; what Rosie offers is what you get.
What it costs
Checked on heyrosie.com/pricing on September 7, 2026: Professional is $49 a month for 250 minutes, Scale is $149 for 1,000 minutes and Growth is $299 for 2,000 minutes. Every plan has a 7-day free trial, and paying annually gets two months free. No overage rate is published, so ask what happens in the month you run past the allowance.
What a trade owner gets for each tier: at $49, the phone is answered, messages are taken across two custom scenarios, spam is filtered and callers can be sent an appointment link by text, but nobody gets transferred and nothing lands on your calendar by itself. At $149, the receptionist books directly on your calendar, warm-transfers or live-transfers to a person on your crew, texts callers during the call and handles five message scenarios. At $299, transfers waterfall through a list, the agent is trained on your documents, onboarding is white-glove and scenarios are unlimited. For most one-truck operators the honest comparison is $49 against the steps you will still do by hand, and $149 against Torklio's $99 Starter, which books with a conflict check and grades callers but has 300 minutes rather than 1,000.
Which trades it fits
Owner-operated trades with a callback culture: residential cleaning, pest-control routes, and landscaping outfits where the first call is a quote request rather than an emergency. Trades where the caller expects a confirmed time on the first call, such as garage-door or emergency plumbing, will feel the missing scheduling step immediately on the $49 plan and should price the $149 Scale plan instead.
Bottom line for owners
Rosie at $49 is the right answer to "just make the missed calls stop." It is the wrong answer to "book my week for me" unless you step up to the $149 Scale plan, and at that price it is competing with tools that also grade callers. If simplicity matters but you also want unlimited minutes and a longer customer record, look at Goodcall next; if booking with a conflict check is the goal, read the Torklio review.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. Rosie works by forwarding your existing line.
Does Rosie book appointments?
On the $149 Scale plan and above it books directly on your calendar. The $49 Professional plan only texts the caller an appointment link. Whether direct booking runs a conflict check first is pending verification.
Is Rosie cheaper than Goodcall?
At the entry level, yes: Rosie's Professional plan is $49 for 250 minutes against Goodcall's $79 per agent (checked September 7, 2026). Goodcall's minutes are unlimited, though, so a shop with long calls may come out ahead there, and Rosie publishes no overage rate.
